zen-garden-a.jpgFacial cleansers come in many packages and are formulated to produce different results.  For example, a cleanser containing chamomile extracts and algae peptides aims to soothe and hydrate the skin.  Daily use promotes softer, smoother skin and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and surface dryness.  A combination of Vitamin E, lavender and aloe combine to provide a creamy wash that soothes and replenishes moisture to your facial skin, leaving it ultra soft and clean.  Then there are exfoliating facial cleansers produced to wash away skin debris, and refine and minimize the appearance of pores.  A dermatologist-formulated product will contain a higher concentrate of salicylic acid than most over-the-counter products.  The benefit to you is a cleanser for all skin types and especially formulated to calm and clear skin and remove dry, flaky areas.

Choose your facial skin cleanser carefully – use a combination during the week to produce various desired results.  Cleansing is the first step in a daily facial skin routine.

Princess Moisturizer

Skin moisturizers are not all alike.  There are facial moisturizers for every skin type and condition.  Dermatologist formulated facial moisturizers contain a more concentrated amount of the essential ingredients than most over-the-counter facial moisturizers.  There are moisturizers for dry, medium and oily skin, for young skin and old skin, those with troublesome rosacsimg_0199.JPGia redness and acne prone skins.  There is a facial moisturizer for all of us.  Read the descriptions of each facial moisturizer and choose one that answers the needs of your skin.

I am a visionary. . . .I have a vision that stays with me. . . .can’t shake it. Following a facial moisturizing routine, I see this matronly lady, full-figured. . . .rising from her chair and seeming to take flight around the room like Peter Pan, smiling and humming a sprightly tune, as she stops to pick up her mister, then darts from plant to plant, puckering a kiss to each as she mists the plant thoroughly. Having completed her rounds, is grounded, she heads for the basement to do her laundry. . . .a smile lingers reminding her that she has repaid all those who made her exotic facial moisturizer skin care potions, by putting on her  ”Princess Moisturizer’s Mistering Fly-Around”.

Must I remain a visionary!!

Hawaiian Tides – Pep Tides

What are algae peptides and why do I care?  The tiny molecules can penetrate the barrier of the epidermis.  Because they’re sea extract they intensify the hydration process.  Applying 5% algae peptides to moisturizer increases moisturizing by 128%.  The peptides increase collagen synthesis which lessens the appearance of fine lines and acne marks.  Try an Ultra Firming Marine lotion which is infused with marine algae peptides.

When I think of exotic moisturizingimg_0587.JPG lotions for my skin, I think of the people who harvest the Pep Tides (marine algae peptides) from the Hawaiian Sea. I wonder how they can see the tiny things they harvest from the rolling tides. . .high tide or low tides? And then to send only the little things that have EXTREMELY small molecules. . .not the ordinary small molecules. Then I wonder about the Hawaiian Sea. Must be near Hawaii, but where.? . .north . . .south. . . then I only think of the wonderful way my skin reacts to the care of so many people who harvest, and measure, mix , and package . . . .all just so I can have the best moisturizer ever. Thanx everybody  z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-.

img_0578.JPGAfter cleansing your face, use an exfoliate or all the moisturizer in the world won’t help.  You’ll merely be applying facial moisturizer to a layer of dead skin – with no moisturizing results.  Exfoliation should be part of your beauty routine just after cleansing.  Use gentle exfoliating products such as a gentle scrub, a retinol-based product or one containing salicylic acid that will increase cellular turnover, and therefore lessen fine lines and wrinkles, lessen pore size, improve the condition of your skin and reveal your healthy, glowing skin.

Your facial skin is most likely to be affected by the wind and sun.  You need to be extra careful in the winter to prevent burning and peeling from the wind.  After exfoliating try a gentle toner to smooth and balance your facial skin.  So remember, cleanse and then exfoliate for the maximum benefit of your other beauty products.

Anti-Aging KitOur facial skin is so self sufficient.
Its ability to heal is such a miraculous power
to have, and yet on at least two occasions, our skin
must ask for our help.

It will call on us to lend a hand to fight back
when the aging process sends an alarm: dry facial
skin and wrinkles.  Anti-aging help is here!

The other call? When our facial skin calls, not for
a hand,  but just for a finger or two, it wants us to
. . . scratch an itch!

We can answer the second call with no additional aid.

But for the first call, we need an array of support:
dermatologist skin care products and the  experience
to set up routines to assure effective results.

We are the agents for Anti-Aging..

We see only beauty and rejuvenation in our future.

Feel Lovely & Beautiful

Who doesn’t want to look and feel gorgeous and attractive?  Nobody it seems.  That is why the beauty industry thrives and profits year in and year out despite economic crises in many places around the globe. Apparently, for some people, looks are paramount, thus cosmetics are essential and non-negotiable.

There are innumerable products out there that can prettify faces, soften skin, make one smell better, and do other positive, look-and-feel-good stuff.  There’s makeup of course, and the whole gamut of foundation, powder, eye liner, eye shadow, mascara, blush, lip liner, and lipstick.  Then there’s the facial care line of astringents, toners, cream, anti aging, and anti wrinkle products. For their skin, most folks are happy with lotions/moisturizers that nourish and provide much-needed protection from the sun.  Many also can’t do without a whiff of their favorite perfume or cologne.  At bath time, soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner are the usual suspects.  Still, to several people, all these beauty supplies are not enough.  So they head to salons and spas for specialized face and body treatments and for added pampering.

GrowOld But Don’t Look It

antiagingcream2-purelypersonalcare.jpgGrowing old is an inescapable fact and all people will experience it whether they like to or not.  When it comes to aging, women worry more about its onset and its effects than the male population.  The proof is in the multi-million dollar beauty industry, the never-ending commercials featuring lovely and seemingly flawless ladies, and the myriad of skin, hair and body products, treatments, and services that all promise improved looks and are patronized by countless females.

It is totally understandable why many women try to hold on to their youth and delay the aging process as long as they can.  Nobody consciously wants to get old physically and prematurely and sport wrinkles, crow’s feet, spots, and fine lines galore.  To put off the inevitable, women rely on supplements and several skin care products such as moisturizers/lotion, anti-aging cream, sun block and toners. Some also use make up to camouflage imperfections and to add color and sophistication to their overall appearance.  Others however, who wish for more immediate results and benefits, opt for cosmetic surgery and other treatments performed by medical professionals.

img_0586.JPGAs we age, we start to think about using anti-aging moisturizers and other products that deal with cleansing skin care and anti-aging skin care.  And don’t forget skin tightening cream.  Some wrinkles are okay, like laugh wrinkles, but some that indicate premature aging should be given early attention with anti-aging skin care.  Your skin will say thank you when you show you care.

When should we start an anti-aging skin care routine?  Today.  Not tomorrow.  Start right now to think about skin rejuvenation.  Skin cleansing, exfoliating and anti-aging moisturizing will discourage those pesky wrinkles and uninvited dry skin.  Try some facial exercizes, too.  Combined with your daily skin care routine, facial exercizes will pay off with an obvious improvement in skin tightening…it will also brighten your outlook as you newly approach graceful aging.

img_0514.JPGThe combination of wind, cold air and the sun can be extremely damaging to your skin.  It can cause dry skin, itching and flaking.   Here are a few tips to help you get through the winter blahs – take a shorter shower with tepid, not hot water.  Dry quickly and moisturize immediately – use thicker moisturizers in the winter – creams rather than fluid lotions.  The latter contain more water and less moisturizer.

Unless you have really oily skin, your winter skin care routine should include really rich products.  Use the products that include hydration, replenishing, skin rejuvenation and a protectant.  Do not forget about sun block.  We’ll talk about that at a later date.  Meanwhile, remember moisturize, moisturize and moisturize while you are hydrating your skin.

Masks should play an active role in your skin care routine.  They provide various results:  skin revitalizing to lift and plump the skin; rejuvenating and smoothing; firming and toning; soothing and refreshing dehydrated or stressed skin.

A regular skin care routine is vital to your skin’s well being.  You can always tell an older person who has practiced good skin care.  They age better, with fewer fine lines and wrinkles than those of us who are haphazard about our skin care.

If you have any suggestions to share with others, any tips you have discovered, please jump in here and let us know!  We would love to hear about other’s skin care habits that they find to be beneficial.  And remember, MASK regularly.
